Birchwood ADU

This client had a workshop off the back of their garage that they were interested in converting to an ADU. Their goals were to both house additional family members in order to create a multi-generational living situation when needed or to create additional rental income when it was not used by family members.
The workshop was approximately 330 square feet. Our goal was to provide a different point of entry from the driveway, giving both sets of residents their space as well as to allow the space to work in harmony with the rest of their mid-century house design. We wanted to create an open floorplan and also take advantage of the large backyard by providing some outdoor living options for the ADU residents.
